Week 5 discussion post

From my point of view, “The Obscene,Violent Supplement of State power: Korean Welfare and Class Warfare in Interwar Japan” by Kawashima mainly talks about the suffer and the unequal treatment of Korean workers who worked in Japan. The reason why Kawashima insist on focusing on the suppression of Korean workers in Japan by the Soakai is because the author intended to show how much pain and harsh treatment that the Japanese has implemented on Korean workers, and what the Korean workers have done in order to fight against the tyranny.

The question raised is what are some of the other reasons that made the Korean workers to fight against Japanese. the love story between Mr. Kim and Matsu Shina shows how difficult it was for people from Japan and Korea to keep the relationship during that time, under the tense relation between Japan and Korea.
